Glimpse of a: Golf Nut
Subject: Frank T. Fraley
Profession: Vice President of Mount Vernon Hospital, Sound Shore Health System, Mt. Vernon, NY
Age: 46
Hometown: Brooklyn, NY
Point of pride: Becoming president of the Greater Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. In the 96-year history of the organization, I’m the first African American to hold the position.
Intro to the game: The year was 1998, and as business relationships developed, my golf game followed suit. At this point, both my professional development and my golf game make me feel really good. Everyone needs a golf buddy who will be a guide through the rough and tumble early days of losing multiple balls without offering harsh judgments. For me, that was my good friend Bill Howell. Now I’m playing a few rounds with the same ball.
Other interests: Jewelry designing and watch collecting.
Favorite clubs: The new Cleveland Hibores—they’re great!
Other equipment I can’t live without: My wedges: the 50º Nickent ARC Matte, the 52º Titleist Vokey and the 56º Ping Tour Black.
Best Score: 79
To upgrade my game I need to: Play more golf!
Most frequented course: Lake Isle Eastchester, NY
Dream courses: The Winged Foot Golf Club’s West course in Mamaroneck, NY; Bethpage State Park’s Black Course in Farmingdale, NY
