There are more than 15,000 courses dispersed throughout the United States. So, selecting a destination worthy of that sacred weekend time-slot you hold so dear can be a difficult task. Luckily for you, as temperatures steadily decline, so does the amount of delusional hacks who stand in the fairway awaiting their chance to reach that par 5 in two. Sure, they’re always going to be out there hand-warmers and all. But the majority would rather wait until summer returns before unleashing their hazardous shanks and poor etiquette. The trail of unfilled divots and greens rife with ball marks left behind by our skillfully challenged friends turns finding a reasonably priced, high-quality course, into a game of Where’s Waldo. Mountain Branch Golf Club, a semi-private, course located in Joppa, Maryland is arguably one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premiere golfing destinations. The 18-hole facility presents a challenge, yet rewarding experience for golfers of varying handicaps (hackers excluded). Players will face severe slopes, split fairways and elevated carries on this Jeff Matthai design that is far from the mundane. “There are no filler holes,” says Head Golf Professional, Damon Klepczynski. “Golfers will never play the same hole twice during a round of eighteen.” That’s one down, and 14,999 courses to go.

I heard about this place in the West Village that all the celebrities and models go to. I am a cupcake freak and was a little skeptical that I would disappointed,as often the case is that there is hype about a certain product or place, and then it turns out that it really wasn't worth the hype. But curiosity got the best of me, and one Saturday morning I decided to trek down to Bleecker Street and try one of these famous cupcakes. Well the line was long, which was a bit frustrating, but, alas, the cupcakes were absolutely divine, pure heaven.
