The Wow Factor by Barney Adams

Book Review

Barney Adams, founder of Adams Golf, recounts how he worked his way up from the local iron foundry to a position of prominence in the golf industry. Brief encounters with Dave Pelz and the legendary golf instructor Hank Haney led to partnerships that seemingly shaped Adams’ destiny and the creation of the Tight Lies fairway wood, one of the bestselling clubs in golf history. This is an all-American rags-to-riches story, but told with a candidness that is surprisingly refreshing. An inspiring read for the avid golfer and the budding entrepreneur alike. Some good advice from Adams: “I can’t tell you that if you follow your passion you’ll definitely be rewarded for it. All I can say is, do your homework and be as realistic as you can. At the same time, remember one thing: Do too much analysis and you’ll never take a shot. Sometimes you just have to go for it.” Guess it turned out alright for him.
