Weighing in on Woods

The world's number one golfer has been under much scrutiny after a recent car crash and allegations of infidelity

The world's number one golfer has been under much scrutiny after a recent car crash and allegations of infidelity. Tiger Woods posted an official statement on his Web site www.tigerwoods.com apologizing for his “transgressions” and asked for privacy during this matter. “No matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy,” stated Woods. Do you agree?

The 2 Worlds of Tiger Collide: Do You Believe in Second Chances?

Visit www.dstroman.com for the full article...On this past Friday at 11:00 a.m. EST most of America stood still. Not for health care reform, terrorist declarations or even the death of a dignitary. Tiger Woods spoke directly to us as he took the microphone for the first time since his car accident on Thanksgiving and we listened. Although most Americans appear to have heard an authentic man at his lowest point requesting our help, there are some who still question the motives and heart of the world’s #1 golfer. As someone who attempts to put my faith into action, I have ceased the Tiger analysis and will do this one thing that the man who has changed the face of golf (and the sport industry) asked – to try to believe in him again.

Jonathan Bernstein, a respected public relations expert, states that “during a crisis, effective spokespersons must, primarily through their non-verbal cues, leave their audiences with the impression that they are: confident, competent, and compassionate. Leaving the commentary of the facial and body analysis experts aside, Tiger’s written words were heartfelt and delivered with sincerity. Can you truly imagine having committed the most sex-related “irresponsible and selfish behavior” against someone you love and then having to face your closest friends and colleagues (and the world) to ask for their forgiveness? Tiger just can’t win in this regard.

Tiger - time to pay the piper

Tiger deserves every once of scrutiny and scorn he will get. 1 or 2 affairs would have been disapointing to say the least but 14+ indicates a lifstyle of lust and deception. Accenture used him in 83% of their advertising! Millions were invested in his image and millions will be lost. It's a very sad time not only for the golf industry but for golfers in general.
Shame on you Tiger Woods!!!

Public or Private?

Completely private. Unfortunately this type of behavior is commonplace in America, so instead of condemning Tiger, we shouldn't be so quick to judge others. Take a good look at our own lives and work towards not having this happen to us or our family members. "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone" - John 8:7

This is News?

Like most headlines in the main stream press, this is fake, meaningless news. With all the consequential topics that merit coverage why does this matter?

Who Cares? - I'm with Naimah

This is the latest scandal du jour; White House party crashers, Tiger's dalliances - tune in next week for what's next. To Naimah's point, there are much heavier issues that confront us all.

Let's keep in perspective, it's only a game.

Another one bites the dust

As long as men achieve what they believe is power through the adoration of the public, there will be cheating. There will always be women drawn to the illusion of wealth and power who have no qualms about their actions. We need to stop elevating these "humans" to god status; maybe then they can keep their heads ... and their pants on.

That being said, the rest of this is between him and his wife who, evidently, is not the type to take it all in stride. Enough already and stop the parade of the kiss and tell mistresses. I am only interested in who I sleep with - and maybe my daughter, that's it!

We place too much emphasis on

We place too much emphasis on sports and entertainment in this country, perhaps even the world...the situation is turned upside down...What if a teacher earned $10 million for having the best score at the end of a school year for getting the most urban, innercity children into college instead of having the best golf record?

I hear you Naimah, troops in Afghanistan is much more important.

Gimme A Break

Wow!

I cannot believe that America is making such a big huff about this. It baffles me that one man's side hustle for a real Skins Game made his wife and the media go bonkers. Let him live. He elevated the game of golf to a whole new plateau and became the face of a sport that not too many people even cared about. I am Tiger Woods. I am an imperfect man asked to be perfect under circumstances beyond my control. In the words of the prophetic and late Nell Carter, "Gimme A Break!"

A MAN JUST LIKE ALL OF US

What if every minor dispute you had with every single one of your relationships was scrutinized to the highest degree? I think Woods is handling this with the highest amount of care that someone in his situation can be expected to. I've always disagreed with the right the public feels it has in regards to it's obsession with celebrities. It's okay as long as it doesn't directly impede your life, right?

With that said, the PGA needs to hold it's collective breath and pray that things don't get any worse than they already are for Mr. Woods, because evaporating advertising budgets plus an embarrassing slip like this could cost the tour dearly.

Who Cares?

Men cheat, women cheat...aren't 30,000 more troops being deployed to Afghanistan?
